Day 63: Awakening

I had actually thought about using the following verses last night, but then, for whatever reason I'm just not sure, I decided to use a different verse. But today, I was scrolling through my list of verses that I would like to use in the future, and as I was scrolling (too quickly to read anything) I stopped randomly and happened to be on the exact same verses. That clinched the deal: I had to use them tonight.

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

~Romans 13:11-14 (KJV)

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: the world is a troubled place (to say the least). All the more reason why we need to wake up. Wake up to what is really going on around us. Wake up and leave behind ungodly ways and repent. Wake up and realize that God is the only answer to the problems of the world. Wake up and follow the Lord. The best time to act is NOW! Don't put your faith in worldly things, put your faith in God Almighty. Lord, I know that I am no saint--I'm human--but I repent of my sins and surrender to You, Lord. I leave the darkness behind and put on God's armor of light and truth and goodness and love--armor that NOTHING AND NO ONE can remove or penetrate! With Jesus Christ, we will all be led down His path away from riots, drunkenness, wantonness, strife, and envy, among many other ungodly things.

Lord, thank You for this day. It was great! Lord, I ask that You please watch over my family, friends, and pets; please bless them and keep them safe and strong, happy and healthy. Please watch over the defenders of Your name and Your children, and please watch over their families as well; may they all be blessed with courage and strength in times of separation and/or loss, and may they be safely reunited someday soon. Please watch over those who are misguided, misjudged, mistreated, misunderstood, sick, or weak, and please help them to recognize that You know best and that You will help them and guide them if they only just ask. And I pray that non-believers are blessed with family and friends who are Christian who can help to open their hearts and let the light and love of God and Jesus Christ in. Lord, thank You for the countless blessings You have given to me; I appreciate every single one of them even if I can't recall all of them, but I suppose that's a good thing because it means that You have blessed me with more than I could ever list in a lifetime (possibly two lifetimes, hehe)! Lord, I ask that You please continue to guide me as You always have. Lord, wake me up! Please help to me to become a better person. Please forgive me of my sins, and please continue to guide me down Your path, Lord. Whatever You want me to do, I will do it with genuine happiness! Lord, I will follow You forever and ever, NO MATTER WHAT! I am Your faithful daughter, Lord, and I will love You with all my heart and all my soul for all time! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Love and God Bless,
M.C.
