(Second one from my "no internet" weekend!)
The Lord works in mysterious ways. I know that’s pretty obvious, but I just love the truth of it. There’s no particular reason for me saying that other than it just popped in my head. We may not understand why, but we don’t have to; in fact, we’re not supposed to. That’s the reason for faith—to let God take care of that which we don’t have the ability to fully (or even partially) understand.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
~Ephesians 3:14-2 (KJV)
God deserves every bit of praise that we can give to Him and much, MUCH more. He created the world and everything in it, He sent His son to earth to die for our sins, He has the ability to close doors and open other doors, He blesses each of us in totally unique ways based on our individual needs, and He gives us strength beyond measure. Those are just a few excellent reasons why we should fall to our knees and worship the Lord. The second half of these verses are a prayer, asking that Jesus Christ be in the hearts of all people. The prayer continues and asks that every one of us focuses on love, which is what Jesus preached on earth—the kind of love that is immeasurable, whose extent is inconceivable. Whether or not we can understand its depth, breadth, and height, we can still feel and share that love that is God Almighty and praise Him for it.
Lord, thank You for this day—it was terrific. Thank You for blessing the charity event today. I ask that You please let tomorrow be just as blessed. Thank You for my family, friends, and pets; please watch over them, bless them, and keep them safe, strong, happy, and healthy. Please watch over the brave men and women who serve You and this country; please bless them with strength and courage, and please bring them home safe. Please also watch over their families; please bless them with serenity and strength in times of separation or loss. Please watch over those less fortunate and bless them with Your love; and may we be ever mindful of those in need and I ask that You please bless us so that we may help them. Lord, thank You for blessing my family and me; You have given me more than I could ever imagine. Please continue to bless us and keep us safe. Lord, please forgive me of my sins, and please continue to guide me down Your path so that I may become a better person. Lord, I will follow You forever and ever because I LOVE YOU! You are my rock that I cling to in a storm, and my beacon when I need to find a safe harbor. Thank You, Lord, for all that I am and all that I have. I love You, Lord, with all of my heart and soul for all time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Love and God Bless,
M.C.
