Day 72: Don't Be Afraid

Tomorrow is a big day. I decided to enter a local singing competition and my audition is tomorrow evening. I'm very excited, but at the same time, I'm kind of nervous. It's been a few years since I've performed solo for a crowd, so I think most of it is because I feel a little out of practice. But no matter what happens, I know I'll be just fine because I know that God is with me always, and whatever is meant to be will be. Que sera sera!

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

~Jeremiah 1:8-9 (KJV)

While this situation is obviously very different from mine, the meaning isn't that far off. Even if people don't agree with my style or song choice or they don't like me and/or my singing, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what people think of me--even if no one on earth liked me, God would still love me and I know that He will never abandon me. Lord, You are #1 in my heart, and I ask that You stay there forever. Lord, I ask that You please put Your words in my mouth always, but I also humbly ask that You place a song in my mouth tomorrow as well. Please give me strength, Lord, don't let me be nervous or afraid of all of the "faces" looking up at me tomorrow. And I pray that I'm not afraid of any person's judgment of who I am as a child of God, for no one--I repeat, NO ONE--can take God's love away from me. I declare that God is my Holy Father now and forever, and His Son Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Their love is all that truly matters.

Lord, thank You for this day--it was certainly a productive one. Thank You for my family, friends, and pets; I ask that You please watch over them, bless them, and keep them safe, strong, happy, and healthy. Thank You for those who defend Your name and this country; I ask that You please bless them with strength and courage and I pray that You bring them home safe. Please watch over their families and bless them with strength and serenity in times of separation and/or loss. Please watch over those who need Your strength and guidance and support most; please bless them with good Christian family and/or friends whom You can work through to help bring blessings to those in need. And Lord, I ask that You please watch over all of the others who will be competing in the singing competition; please give them confidence and strength in their performances, and may they all know that You are with them. Please, Lord, watch over me, cleanse me of my sins, and please continue to guide me down Your path. You are the only one who can truly guide me the correct way. Lord, I love You with all of my heart and soul, and I always will, and I ask that You please stay with me and help me to become a better Christian--the person that You want me to be, Lord. God Almighty, I will follow You and Your Son forever unconditionally. Thank You so much for all that You do for me, Lord; I will serve You and only You forever and ever no matter what! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Love and God Bless,
M.C.
