Day 86: Spirit

Today started out a little slow, but it was a good day. I worked on a project I was forced to put off for a while, so I feel like I got something accomplished, even if I didn't finish completely. Nothing particularly "exciting" happened (except for a nice thunderstorm), but that doesn't make it any less special. God makes all days, which makes every one of them special. I am so glad to be here today, and I am so blessed to have the Lord here with me.

The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

~Proverbs 18:14-16 (KJV)

I admit, not every day is perfect. Life happens, and the world takes its toll--it happens to everyone. But you know what? It doesn't matter. The world can do whatever it wants to us, but nothing can change the fact that God loves each and every one of His children, and He will not let anything happen that isn't meant to happen for the greater good. We just need to love Him and trust that He will lead us through. If you have a strong spirit in the Lord, you can go through an incalculable amount more than if your spirit was frail and doubtful. If you seek out the Word of God in earnest, you'll find it sooner or later (e.g., when God knows it's the right time). Finally, whatever gift(s) God gives you will shine through and help you get to where God needs you to be. That last idea especially is a spirit-booster for me. What a way to help you to realize your own importance on earth!

Lord, thank You for this day. It was amazing! Thank You so much for all of the wonderful blessings You have given to me. Thank You for my family, friends, and pets; I ask that You please watch over them, bless them, and keep them safe, strong, happy, and healthy. Thank You for the men and women who serve You and this country, and I ask that You please bless them and bring them home safe. Please also watch over their family members and friends, and please bless them with strength and serenity during times of separation and/or loss. Please bless those whose needs are greatest. May we all be mindful of those who are less fortunate than ourselves, especially when we are able to share our own blessings with them. Lord, please cleanse me of my sins, and please continue to guide me down Your path of righteousness. Wherever You need me to be, I will go. Whatever You need me to do, I will do. Please continue to open my eyes and the eyes of my heart to Your Word. Please continue to bless me as You always have, Lord. I love You with all of my heart and soul, and I always will. I will follow You and only You forever, Lord, no matter what. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.

Love and God Bless,
M.C.
