I can't believe I've already written 70 posts. By no means am I complaining! It's just that it seemed to happen so quickly. I'll admit, days when I'm extremely busy, I wish I had more time to devote to both my other tasks and this, but I'm still glad to have kept up as well as I have, regardless of a few missed days. I enjoy writing this blog, and I feel guilty when I'm forced to miss a day. I love seeing the multitude of connections between my life and the Bible, which just goes to show you that even thousands of years later, God's Word is still alive and well in modern-day America.
And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.
For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
~Deuteronomy 32:46-47 (KJV)
God told Moses to relay that message to all the tribes of Israel before Moses died. Seeing as God's Word is still being taught to this day, they must have obeyed! I am so glad that they did, too. I receive daily devotional emails, and no matter what the verse, it always pertains to what's going on in my life. Whenever I feel a little blue and I read (or just think of) God's Word, I feel so much better. God's love is endless, and I can feel it emanate from the verses. And just as Moses said all those centuries ago, it's not a vain (or senseless) thing--it is just as important now to follow God's Word as it was in the time of Moses. It's God's Word that tells us how to live a life that honors God. It also tells us how to obtain everlasting life through Christ Jesus, as well as many other historical, factual accounts which we all can benefit from. By learning what's in the Bible, we can learn how to become godly people, come closer to God and Jesus, and discover THE WAY to Heaven and everlasting life... and that is, by NO means, a senseless thing.
Lord, thank You for this day--it was BEAUTIFUL! Thank You for cooling it down to a bearable temperature! Lord, thank You for my family, friends, and pets; I ask that You please watch over them, bless them, and keep them safe, strong, happy, and healthy. Please watch over the defenders of Your name and this country; please bless them with courage and strength, and please bring them home safely. Please watch over their families and friends and bless them with serenity and peace in times of separation and/or loss. Please also watch over those who need defending, and may they be blessed with good Christian family members and/or friends whom You can work through to give strength and hope. Lord, please forgive me of my sins and please continue to watch over me and guide me down Your path. Please help me to become a better person--the person You want me to be. I pray that my heart and mind open wider every day so that I may soak up Your Word and put it into practice. I ask that You please continue to bless me as You always have. Lord, please walk with me every day--every moment--so that I may learn from You, and with You I will never be lonely, nor will I ever have need to fear. I trust in You and You alone, Lord. You are my guiding light, and I love You more than words can say! I love You with all of my heart and soul and I always will, and I will follow You, Lord, forever. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Love and God Bless,
M.C.
